Faith as small as a Mustard seed.

Hey family and friends,

This month has been a very challenging month for me. My school and class are going great and smooth. They are not the challenges but it’s my own mind and thoughts that have been a challenge for me. I have a lot of confusion about being here as there are so many problems back home. The problems and situations are just one after the other non-stop. I feel very helpless and don’t know what to do or how to help other than contend in prayer and pray some more and pray a lot more. Being here with the rule of no phones during the week is also stressful as I’m unable to keep updated on the situations at home and am always worried. I’m finding it hard to concentrate in class and be a blessing to others as I am always thinking about home. I know the Lord asked us not to worry but to trust him and have faith as small as a mustard seed but having even this much in this situation is not easy.

The Lord has been good to me and my family by bringing Tammyma and Arumai back home although the process was not easy. It has only gotten worse but I believe that God is still working even when I don’t see it or feel it. I have been praying and I felt led to pray more for the government and the office of the immigration that their lives would be changed as they see Tammyma’s documents and papers. They would be like Rahab who hid the two spies in her house and was saved. I believe that the people would see God through my mom and would find favor with Him. My mom would find favor in their eyes too. I pray for peace of mind and complete protection.

With all this aside, at the end of this month I’ll be leaving for outreach in Nagaland but different district. The district that I’m going to is near Myanmar border and is called Noklak. It is a very new district here in Nagaland and was formed very recently. So we have no idea about how everything will work out but we are trusting in God for direction, wisdom, provision and protection. We might also enter the border of Myanmar and try to help and serve and do ministry.

  Some prayer points are:

 1. Please pray for my family, especially my mom. Pray for peace like no other would wrap her like a blanket.

2. Please pray for me as I leave for outreach.

3. Please pray for God to really come through for all of us.

4. Please pray for a miracle.

Life in Nagaland!!

Hey Family and friends,

This month has been a very exciting month and an eventful month. I left for Nagaland on Jan 19th and it’s been almost a month since I’ve been here. It was my first time flying on my own and it was a fearful but a successful experience. I had a few of my sisters and family drop me off at the airport. I miss my family a lot. The base that I’m staying at is really nice. We live in the remote/village side of Dimapur and we have power cuts, bad network and shortage of water every day. The people in this base rear and grow everything on their own for food and meat. They raise pigs and chicken. They grow their own vegetables too from all kinds of greens to tomatoes and lettuce. We’re surrounded by farmlands and farmers. It’s a beautiful sight to wake up to every morning. Since it is a requirement for me to attend the school before I become a full-time staff I am now a student as well as an intern.

The school is very similar to YWAM. There are around 25 students and most of them come from addiction, broken, hard families and are now trying to know God and follow him. Our day starts at 6 in the morning and it’s filled with all kinds of activities. We have Bible study, work-duty, classes, sports, games, small groups, one-on-one, family-fun nights, devotions, worship, etc. Before coming here, I’ve been doubting if I really heard from the Lord about this, whether it was a mistake, if  I’m just running away from Bangalore because of feeling restless and discontent but the Lord confirmed that I’m doing the right thing. I have been going through spiritual dryness and silence from God.  I felt very discouraged and down. Everything I did felt empty and useless. I gave up halfway tried to start fresh too but I got no response from the Lord. I couldn’t hear his voice. After coming here, I’m able to feel his presence and the Holy Spirit.  I realize now the Lord was testing me but unfortunately i was too slow to grasp that and gave up on him. I failed him. But the lord is so gracious to give me another chance. He’s teaching me and showing me more of himself. There is something about this place, the environment and the people that gets to me. I’m really doing well here and adjusting well here. Although I love northeast food, the food is a bit difficult to adjust to here since all they eat is only rice everyday and no other kind of bread. I’ve made some new friends here and am the only south Indian. I’m learning Nagamese and Hindi from my friends here.

Some prayer points for me are:

 1. Please pray that I wouldn’t feel so out of place and lonely because I’m the only odd one out here. It’s    very easy to feel lonely and homesick.

2. Please pray for wisdom and grace as I learn the languages here.

3. Please pray that my body and stomach will adjust better to the food here and that I wouldn’t feel sick all the time.

4. Please pray that I would be a blessing here and continue to listen to the Lord for directions.

New Beginnings!!!

  Hey family and friends,

Happy New Year 2021!!!! I hope all are doing well. This month has been a month of reconciliation, making-peace with others, and getting a fresh start with the Lord. I finished working with Daily Bean last year and now I’m preparing for my next step in life. After my ywam last year I had been planning to go back to Nagaland for ministry when COVID hit. Now I’m finally getting to go back to Nagaland which is something new this year and I’m very excited about it. I’ll be leaving on Jan 19th and for now, it's only for a year and if I feel led to stay longer I might.

This ministry in Nagaland is called Hope ministries Globe Nagaland and the base I’m staying at is called Potter’s House in Dimapur. This ministry is mainly focused on equipping youth to find their callings and destinies. They help youth in establishing their dreams and laying the foundation for new ministries. They run a school called “school of destiny” which is a four months course; 2 months teaching phase and the next 2 outreach phase. I’ll be entering this ministry as an intern for 6 months and will be attending this course as it is a requirement before I become a staff here.

The big three events happening this year is the school of destiny, a pre-school for the laborers’ kids, and branching another base in another area of Nagaland. The school of destiny will be happening from Jan 25th to April. The Potter’s House recently shifted to a new area in Dimapur and was building relationships with the farmers and their families when COVID hit and now they are back to square 1 of building relationships and trusts. So, I’ll be attending this school for the first 4 months and then helping with the opening of preschool. It goes all the way back to getting to the farmers and their families all over again, becoming familiar with the village, spending time with the kids, and then opening a preschool for the kids while their parents work during the day. The last event is the branching out another base in another part of Nagaland.

Some challenges that I’ll be facing are; language, adapting to their culture and environment, building new relationships within the base and outside the base. I’m expecting God to really come through for us in starting this school. The progress will definitely not be easy and there will be a lot of problems but I’m asking God for peace of mind, discernment, a good team, and grace.

Some prayer requests for this month are:

1.       Please pray for me as I travel, for protection and smooth travel.

2.       Please pray that I’ll adapt well with the people and the environment.

3.       Please pray for God’s hand over the big events happening this year.

4.       Please pray that I’ll be strong in the Spirit and truth and that everywhere I go I’ll go with the presence of God.

Content in all things

 Hey Family and friend

This month has been an emotional roller coaster ride. I have been mentally, emotionally and spiritually imbalanced and unstable. I felt like I was being pulled and stretched to my last and barely holding on. I had unintentionally allowed Satan get a foothold of my life and he succeeded in bringing me down in almost every way possible. There were misunderstandings between my siblings and me, work wasn’t any fun either and I felt very lonely and stuck. I had so much negativity and this affected my life, my work, my relationships etc. I had hit rock bottom.

But the Lord didn’t give up on me. In his kindness, faithfulness and most of all love, he reached out to me through my mom, my sisters and friends. He is too good to me and It’s been very hard for me to accept his grace and I am still learning. I was able to be vulnerable and open to my sisters and mom.

Two things that really stuck out to me was, when my mom reminded me that the environment is not the whole reason for my problems but my own self and my discontent. I can’t wish for my promise land and expect to be completely happy when I am unable to be content with where I am currently. The only way for me to learn to be content like Paul is to know the Lord more and run after the Lord even more than before. The second thing that stuck out to me and actually made me think and ponder is when my sister asked me who the Lord is asking me to be in this season. What’s my identity in Christ this season? Not what I do, not my job, my actions but who I am. What part or character of Jesus am I carrying or showing to the world, my family this season?

   Some prayer points are:

1.      Please pray for more of Jesus. I need rekindling and fanning of flames, passion and desire to run deeper in the Lord.

2.      Please pray that I would be able to stand firm in the Lord and use his word as weapon against the devil.

 3.   Please pray for my next plans, decisions and steps.

November 2020

Hey Family and Friends,

I hope that all are doing well with the new normal life. This month has been a smooth month of working at Daily Bean and helping in FSP. In FSP we were able to help pay for the children's school and tuition. Daily Bean has been picking up slowly and the days are unpredictable. Days where it used to be slow are actually getting busier. Customers are slowly coming out of their homes and starting to hang out socially.

The year is almost coming to an end and I am asking God for re-affirmation and guidance as to the plans of going to Nagaland. I have been having doubts and worries about it but the Lord is good and faithful to be my compass in my sense of direction and decisions. I can't believe 2020 is almost coming to an end. The question the Lord has been asking me to ponder on is whether i strived/survived through 2020 or have i been thriving through it? How have I been handling my uncertain feelings and emotions? Have I been like Jesus to my family and friends? Am I still useful for God to use me for his glory and Kingdom? I am still a work in progress with the Lord and he is still teaching me and molding me towards being his instrument. I am not the easiest piece of work for the Lord but his patience and kindness leads me to him.

     Some prayer requests are:
 1. Please pray for a willing heart. Pray that I would willingly surrender and submit to his teaching and molding even when they are hard to accept.
 2. Please pray that I will not doubt the Lord's plans for me.
 3. Please pray that I will end this year with my best for the Lord, in my work and in FSP.

Learning in progress!

 Hey family and friends,

This month has been a month of disciplining myself and my lifestyle. Since the lockdown everything has been haywire and crazy. I have been going through a lot of ups and downs in the past 6 months of my stay in Bangalore. There had been some really good times with the Lord, where I feel really close to him, awakenings and relearning things, some revelations too. And there were also some not so great moments, where I’ve been in my lowest and depressing stage of life, but this month has been stable and easy-going. I was able to discipline my life to wake up at a certain time, set priorities and achieve them, set a time for all things and working to keep myself busy and occupied. Work at The Daily Bean has been really good for my mind and body. Working at FSP has been good for my heart.

I have been taking tuitions for some of the children in FSP and also got an opportunity to teach my sponsor kid. Most of the children in my class are really smart and some a bit slow but once they understand the concept, they really get it. I really loved teaching them. I could see that I really did grow in my patience level and have a knack for teaching children. I got to teach them for a month and now we have a new teacher for the kids. We are so grateful that God brought a young and cool teacher for these kids. I was able to show the new teacher how to handle the students and the classes and have passed my class into her hands.

The Lord has asked us to live a self-controlled and self-disciplined lifestyle, not just mentally and spiritually but physically also. There is a thin line between going through a mundane daily routine life and a self-disciplined life. I have been learning the difference between these two and I can see the vast difference between these two. In a self-disciplined life, we keep putting Jesus first and thinking of how we can please him through our daily routine whereas in just going through daily routine stuff we do it because we have to do it and those things become boring and mundane. I’m still learning and growing in this area.

   Some prayer points are:

1.        Please pray for our FSP children and the tuition center. Pray for safety and more of Jesus in these children.

2.        Please pray for my family. We’ve had some sick siblings. Pray for healing ad full recovery. Pray that the blood of Jesus would wash our home and cleanse us all.

3.        Please pray that Arumai and Tammyma would be able to come home soon.

Please pray that I would continue growing and learning, more of Jesus

Basics and Foundation.

Hey family and friends,

As you already know, I have been working in Family Support for quite some time now and we have been able to open a second tuition center in another area in Bangalore. My sister Santhiya has put in a lot of time and effort into the opening and establishing of another tuition center. When we thought it wouldn’t be possible to open one this year at all, God made a way for that to happen. We were able to get a house for reasonable rent and set up a decent center with all facilities which include being able to play in the park, snack time, and not just working on school work/ homework but setting their foundation in phonics and basic math. I find it very upsetting to see the school education system being so business and money-minded, but pay no attention to teaching the students. All the kids that come here have very or no knowledge at all of the phonics and basic math. I get to teach classes 4 and 5. The children in these classes too have no knowledge of phonics and math but I am able to teach them and I really enjoy doing that. I also get time to spend with my sponsor kid as he’s in my class. He has a very cute personality and I’m very glad to be able to get to know him and sponsor him.

This month has also been very challenging for me as I have emotionally accepted the changes around me. Sadly, I wasn’t very positive about it and had to have a number of one-on-ones with Tammyma to help me process them and not just accept them but to embrace them. The lord has been very patient with me and so has Tammyma. For a while, I forgot my identity and started feeling insecure compared to some of my sisters that I live with but God opened my eyes and reminded me of who I am in him. I have been able to reconcile with my sisters and start getting along just fine. I needed Jesus more now than ever and he has been there for me but I was too blinded by my own self-pity, bitterness, loneliness and self-doubt. But the Lord was able to get my attention through my mom and now I feel so much closer to God and lighter at heart. My mind is so much more at peace now that I get along with my sisters and am myself again. My foundations needed to be cemented once again and the Lord has been faithful to do that for me.

My journey on the water.

Hey family and friends,

I hope that all are doing well and staying protected. This month has been eye-opening as well as exciting. My brother Thangboi and I have decided to sponsor a child from the FSP program. The child we’re sponsoring is a little boy named Praveen and he is in 4th grade. He lives with his mother who is a widow and partially deaf. I’m so excited to be sponsoring this child, not just financially but also through prayer. It sure is so much more satisfying to give than to receive. I pray that this family will grow into a house of blessing and joy.

At the beginning of April, I had a revelation from the Lord during one of my quiet times. He spoke to me through the passage in Mark where Peter walks on water. Since coming back home from my ministry I’ve been trying to settle back in as much as possible. The revelation that the Lord showed me was when Peter walked on water it was a life-changing experience for him, but how he walked on water was what struck out to me. It was the different phases he went through while walking on water that the Lord was showing me. The journey that he had, though a very short one, it changed his whole life.

·         The first was when he got off the boat and walked confidently on water towards Jesus. In my life, it resembles my good and high times with the Lord. When I’m on fire and passionate for him.

·         The second, the storm and waves came in and he looked back. When something unexpected or a crisis arises, I lose focus of Jesus and look back at my problems, sin, and start backsliding.

·         The third, he’s drowning. I’ve fully forgotten what it was like to be walking confidently with Jesus and I’m so focused on my life on earth that I forget Jesus.

·         He asked Jesus to save him. When all seems lost and there’s no hope, the only one still standing there in my life is Jesus. I look up to him when I’m in need of him the most. But in his mercy and kindness, he saves me. And he’s with me the rest of the way.

The question that the Lord was asking me was how will my journey be like in the midst of this storm and waves. Will I be drowning, walking confidently with him or asking him to save me?

It's August now and I’ve totally forgotten about this revelation but the Lord reminded me of this while I was listening to a message by Christy Cain and the title of it was Miracle in Malta. Paul’s calling was Rome and he knew is clearly. He was on his way to Rome when his shipwrecked and he got stranded on an island called Malta. Instead of complaining and yearning for Rome, he kept his heart right with God, and the Lord used this time to bring a great revival to the people of this island. Satan tried to use external factors like the storm, waves, cyclones to stop him from his calling and when that didn’t work-out he used internal factors like anger, hate, mumbling, self-pity, to stop him but Paul positioned his heart right with God. He worshipped and praised God, broke bread, and encouraged his group to do the same. The Lord opened my eyes to how I’ve been handling this whole COVID crisis. Instead of positioning my heart right before God, I’ve been complaining, yearning for a better situation and place to be at, grumbling and mumbling. I’m drowning in my spiritual walk but the Lord in his kindness and goodness drew me out of my misery and is showing me that not once am I out of his plans and will. Though the journey to my calling is long, He will be and is with me throughout the journey. I will get there eventually not how I plan it but according to his plan and time.

Some of my prayer requests are:

1.       Please pray for my sponsor child, Praveen, and his family. Pray for more of Jesus in their lives.

2.       I’ve been worrying a lot about my next phase in life, please pray for wisdom, direction, and guidance from the Lord.

3.       Pray that I will grow in the fruits of the spirit and bear those fruits to be like Christ. To grow in Love, joy, peace, and so on.

Reminders and practice

  Hey Family and friends,

I hope that all of you are safe and well. I’m doing good. This month we got to hold a wedding of one of my sisters; Viji. It was a small wedding but it was beautiful. It was one of a kind! The wedding was on June 18th and I got to be a part of the wedding. The weather was perfect and this wedding gave us a reason to glorify God for his goodness in the midst of chaos and the pandemic. I was able to serve the guest and pray at the wedding. The wedding was a success and it went smoothly without any problems. Our family just got a little bigger now and it will keep getting larger.
Viji and Arun's Wedding!

This month the Lord has been reminding me of 2 chronicles 7:14 a lot. I’ve been drifting and back-sliding into my old habits of being apathetic and lethargic spiritually. But the Lord has been very patient with me. the scriptures that he spoke to me through was in Psalms 25: 4,5 and Psalm 27:4. It talks about asking God to show me his ways, teach me his path, and guide me in his truth. And to ask one thing of the Lord, to dwell in his house, gaze upon his beauty and seek him in his temple. This is all that matters in this time and season to him from me. The Lord has been teaching me what it really means to dwell in his house and to gaze upon his beauty. My prayer has been this for the past few days; May integrity and uprightness protect me because my hope is in you. So, now every time I’m feeling apathetic or back-sliding I remind myself of this verse and it helps me move forward with God.

Working at The Daily Bean and Family Support Program has really been helping me practice self-Discipline, have integrity and uprightness in whatever I do as it pleases the Lord and its worship to him. Business at Daily Bean is slowly picking up again and we’ve been able to get the family support back into routine and praying that we’ll be able to continue working. We’re getting into the peak of the virus here and I’m praying for safety and health not just my family but everyone. I believe the Lord will heal this land when we seek him and pray to him.
Some prayer points for this season of my life are:
1.       Please pray for healing in this land, safety, and well-being of every family. People would turn from wicked ways and repent.
2.       Please pray that I would clothe myself in righteousness and live a life pleasing to God.
3.       Please pray for my family, for protection, safety, and be able to continue being a light to the world.

Helping hands!

Hey Family and Friends,

I hope that all of you are safe and doing well. I’m doing good. This month has been a lot more fast-moving for me as I’m helping my sister Santhiya with the Family Support Program. I’m helping her with updating the Kids’ information, the new children that have joined the program, and the tuition center program. I’ve been doing a lot of data entry and even though it doesn’t sound very exciting, I consider this part of ministry as I’m able to get to know about the kids, their stories, and their background. It has opened my heart and mind to being more grateful and have compassion for them. I’m more aware of the children in the program now than I have been before.

My friend Ritika got an opportunity to open up about her faith to her family. Although they weren’t very happy about it, she is able to talk more freely to them about Jesus and pray for them. It isn’t easy for her to be the only Christian in her family but the Lord has been good to her. I’m able to encourage her and tell her that she’s not alone. She has God with her even closer to her than before, that she has her spiritual family behind her, praying for her and supporting her.

I also started working part-time at The Daily Bean and I are really happy to be back there again. It’s not for very long but I’m glad to be of help there too!! I get to minister to my bosses by working for them and serve the customers too!! I try to be as available as I can to any who needs help. I’m hoping that I could carry the presence of God even at work and to the customers I serve.

This month I’m learning how to dwell in the presence of God even in the mundane things and daily routine of life. My family has been doing a Bible study on the book of Mark and we listen to Francis Chan’s teaching on this book. I’ve been able to get a different perspective on this book as one of the points that really stuck put to me or that I resonate with is not losing the fascination of the Good News. In this time and generation, we easily put the Good News of Jesus along with our daily life’s good news and we don’t even realize it.  I can say that I have done that and I got convicted of it. I’m humbled by His holiness and His decision to make the Good News known to me, a lowly human deserving death. But because of his goodness and Unconditional love for me he chose to bring me into his family and kingdom. He gave up His son Jesus for me!! I am saved!! I am loved!!

  Some prayer points are:
1.       Please pray for Ritika. Pray for more of Jesus and that she would feel his presence tangible, like a blanket around her. She would feel the peace of God and that she would be able to lead her family to Jesus.
2.       Please pray for the tuition center that the FSP is trying to set up. It’s not easy setting up extra classes for the children with all the Coronavirus chaos.
3.       Please pray for the Daily Bean. Pray that God would send more customers and that we’d be able to serve and work well.

Waiting and being still

Hey family and friends,

I hope all of you are doing well and are staying safe at home. This month I spent with my family. I was able to catch up with most of my sisters and spend time with them catching up on their lives and see how God is working and teaching each one at different phases. During this season I feel like the Lord has been showing me how to rest with him and trust him even when plans aren’t going the way I planned. I’m learning what it is to wait on God. Waiting on God doesn’t mean I’m not doing anything although I do feel like that most of the time, instead, waiting is, being still before him and, knowing him as God. He knows what he’s doing and that he is in control.

Sisters!!
I’ve also been able to pour out and minister to my friends here in Bangalore, Ritika and, Deepika. Now Ritika has started reading the Bible and she’s been having a lot of questions. I’m able to help her understand and see God’s heart through the word. Deepika has also started taking Jesus seriously and has been trying to get to know him better. She also has a lot of questions on how to live a life pleasing to God and I was able to show her what it means to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and, soul.

This month was also sad as one of our dogs named Beezus passed away. She was attacked by a pack of street dogs and then had inner organ failure. It was very sad and depressing. There were a lot of tears at home. She was a strong, brave, and Wild Dog. She protected our home well and she will be dearly missed.

Beezus.

   Some prayer requests are:
1.      Please pray that I would continue to be a blessing to Ritika and Deepika. Pray that this season would be a life-changing season for them. They would grow closer to Him and deeper in him. They would experience him in a whole new way and level.
2.      Please pray for protection over our home and family.
3.      Please pray that I would continue to wait on the Lord and be still before him.

Home Again!!!

Hey family and friends,

Leaving Base.
I pray that everyone is doing well and keeping safe. This month has been a relaxing and slow month. I came home on the 16th of March and am still home. I have been able to reconnect and spend time with Tammyma, my aunties and my siblings. During this whole quarantine and under lockdown I’m grateful that I’m home and not out anywhere else. It’s the best place to be right now. I feel refreshed and renewed in spirit and mind.  I believe that the Lord has something for me even at home. My quarantine days are spent with a lot of family activities. It all starts with family exercise every morning, family chores, free time, some downtime and outdoor family games like volleyball, king and queen, etc. Evenings are family movies or indoor family games and card games. In the middle of all these fun activities; family devotions, worship, prayer has been my number one favorite. I have missed family worship and prayer when I was away from home. Nothing beats worshiping and praying with family.

Family Fun!!
As one of my prayer for returning home was being a blessing and continue ministering to my family, I was able to do that. I got to share a short message during one of the devotions and every prayer time and worship time the Lord has been using me to be a blessing. My quiet times have gotten so much better also. At the end of my outreach and stay at the base I was starting to feel apathetic and complacent in my quiet time and relationship with God. But on coming home I have been able to get out of it and start rekindling and fanning my flame and passion for God. The Lord has been very faithful and good to me. I love resting with God and spending so much more time with him. I feel closer to Him now than before.
Sisters!!

The Lord has been leading me to go back to Nagaland, Dimapur to partner with a ministry called Hope ministries. Hope Ministries is a ministry that works in the slums and villages of Dimapur. The majority of the people in the slums and villages are from Assam. Because of no employment in Assam, they move to Nagaland and work as farmers. And all of them are either Hindus or Muslims. During my outreach, I got an opportunity to minister to them and spend time with them.  I feel like the Lord might be leading me to work with them, do ministry with the people and even pioneer a house fellowship or house church in these villages. So after the quarantine and lockdown, I will be going back to Nagaland and partner with Hope ministries for a few years. I’m excited to see what God is going to do here and be a part of it.

Some of my prayer points are:
1.      Please pray that I would continue growing deeper in God and learning from Him.
2.      Please pray that I would keep myself open to God for whatever he has for me.
3.      Please pray that as my plans are on hold and I’m starting to feel restless and anxious, I would find peace from God and see what he has for me in this season and time.

Nagaland!!

Hey family and friends,

Nepali kids ministry
This month was my last month of outreach. We traveled to Nagaland on February 7th from Arunachal. We reached Nagaland on the 8th of February. Right before reaching Nagaland we found out that the place where we were supposed to stay was cancelled. So, we didn’t have a place to stay in Nagaland but the Lord came through for us and a family of one of my students opened their home to us. They let us stay with them for two weeks and we got to do ministry with this family. Some of the ministries we did with this family were rehab ministry, church ministry, house visiting, youth ministry, children ministry and school ministry.

During the first week in Nagaland, we got to visit a small village of Nepali people. We did house visiting and invited the children in that village for an event that we planned for the next day. The kids came the next day after school and we got to do ministry with the kids. We taught songs, told stories, danced with them, had skits and played games with them too. It was a blessed time to get to know that village and spent two days with them. We also got to do church ministry in another Nepali church among the youth and elderly people. We also got to minister in a rehab. We shared testimonies and worshiped with them. We also got to pray for each one in that rehab. We visited many more churches and did ministry among that whole town people. The second week of our stay in Nagaland we got to do ministry in the slum, house visiting, children ministry and youth ministry. We were able to encourage the high school students who were going to take the big final exams.
open air ministry

The last week of our outreach and stay in Nagaland we had a week of debrief and team time. We went camping in the mountains for three days and three nights. It was my first experience camping out and I really enjoyed it. Although it was freezing cold and rained most of the time we had fun. We got to do some sight -seeing, trekking, had bonfires and singing time, cooking over fire, and sleeping in tents. We had a time of sharing personal experiences and reconciliations. We got to encourage one another and speak life over each other. This outreach has been very successful. One of the things that satisfied me the most was seeing and being a part of growing and learning together as a team. I learned a lot from each of my student and was able to be Christ like to them. I want to give all glory to God for his favor and grace upon my team and me. It was only because of him was my outreach a success and a redemption from my own outreach experience. I was able to grow in my leadership qualities and learn more on how to be like Jesus. We returned back to base on the 7th of March. We have a week of classes and all my students graduate this Friday; March 13th 2020.

I head home on the 15th of March and am still praying on what to do next. I do feel like the Lord wants me to start something in Nagaland. Dimapur in Nagaland has many villages of Muslims and Hindus. During outreach I got to do ministry with them and I believe I can reach out to them. I’m still praying for direction, guidance from God. I’m very excited to go home and spend time with family and friends.

debrief week

                Some prayer points are:
1.       Please continue praying for my team as they head out back into their lives and families. They would continue growing and learning from God.
2.       Please pray for direction and guidance as I head back home and pray for my next steps.
3.       Please pray that as I rest with family and friends I would continue to be a blessing to them and that I would be refreshed and renewed in Christ.

Arunachal Pradesh!!

Hey family and friends,

Arunachal Pradesh
This month has been such a blessing for my team and me. We were able to see and experience God during our ministry. In my previous blog we were in Mizoram for three weeks. This month we traveled to Arunachal Pradesh and did ministry for three weeks with Annu and her ywam team. We left Mizoram on January 14th,  stayed in Guwahati for a day and then left for Arunachal on the 16th.  We reached on the 17th morning and spent three weeks with the ywam team in Naharlagun. Some of the ministries that we did were school ministry, children ministry, open air/street ministry, church ministry, house visiting, prayer walks and house fellowship.

The first week of our stay in Naharlagun we did ministry in a small school of kindergarten and nursery kids. We taught songs, told stories, played games with them and also taught classes. I was a teacher for the upper kindergarten kids. I had a class of 14 kids. In the evenings we did house visiting in our village area. The next week we went on prayer walks to Itanagar, a lot of mandirs( hindu temples) and also monasteries. On our last week we did open air/ street ministry in different areas of Naharlagun. In the open air ministry we got to minister to Muslim women and their kids. I believe that the Lord went ahead of us and actually prepared the way for us and brought the right people because previously there were other teams who tried to minister to them but they weren’t open to them. But when we did, they willingly sent their kids and also came forward for prayer. We also got to have fellowship with the new born Buddhist people. We were able to worship and encourage them to stand firm in faith and also to spread the gospel to their families and friends. We got to pray for them. It was a beautiful experience.

School ministry!!
In the beginning of our outreach we started with a lot of misunderstandings among my students and me. We had a lot of issues with certain students and some were even on the verge of going back home. I knew that we couldn’t do ministry with so much disunity and misunderstandings. So we had a long team meeting where everyone got to share their problems and clear all misunderstandings. We prayed for each other, learned to forgive one another and love one another. It has been three weeks now and I can say that my team has improved drastically!!! We’ve learned to get along with one another, communicate better, not just tolerate one another but understand and love one another. Our unity is so much stronger now and because of that I believe we were able to do our outreach successfully. Some of the things that really helped for us as a team are worshiping together, having regular meetings, sharing what God’s been teaching each one of us that week during ministry and from one another and praying together. The Lord has been having so much grace and favor upon us as a team and me especially as a leader. I believe my family and friends’ prayers are not in vain. I want to thank God for his faithfulness and goodness.

Prayer walk in a monastery.
Some of the prayer points are:
1.       Please pray that we would not grow weary of doing good and continue to do ministry with the same energy that we started with in the beginning.
2.       Please pray that we would not become complacent and apathetic but would finish this race,   stronger than we started.
3.       Please pray that we would stay united till the end of our outreach.
4.       As our time is nearing the end, please pray that God would show me what’s next for me and for direction and guidance.

Outreach in Mizoram!!

Hey family and friends,

Mizoram!!
Happy New Year 2020!!!! Last Christmas I began my outreach. My team and I left for outreach on the 21st of December and it was a long 4 days journey to Mizoram. We travelled by train for the first two days and by bus for the next two days. But the travel was worth it. Mizoram is a very beautiful place and the people are so welcoming and hospitable. We reached Mizoram on the 24th night and we celebrated Christmas Eve with a fellowship called Mission for Christ. Our first ministry location was in this fellowship. We got to lead them in worship through dance and music. It was our first service in Mizo but its definitely not the last one either!!

Our hosts are a pastor and an ex- ywamer. They’ve been helping us get with different ministries and churches. We were able to do ministry in rehabs, churches, children’s home (for teenagers who are addicts only) and juvenile. When we are in these places we share testimonies, lead worship, have a short teaching, perform a skit, play games, dance with them and pray for them and prophesy over and encourage them.

House visiting
We’ve been here two weeks so far and I love everything about Mizoram. The food is the 2nd best part here after the ministry. We also do a lot of house visiting in the villages. The

villages are high up in the mountains and more isolated from the city. So we did a lot of walking and trekking. We visited 7-10 families and got to listen to them share their problems or requests, encourage and pray for them. It was a blessing to meet these families. We also organize house fellowships where many families come together to worship, pray and encourage one another. I got an opportunity to give a short message in one of these fellowships. I believe that the Lord is making the way smooth for us and that wherever we go and the people we meet are all planned out by God. The people in the rehabs are so eager to hear about God and the testimonies they hear resonate with them and they receive hope. Being able to give these people hope is one of the most beautiful things. Showing them Jesus and being like Jesus to them is one of our team’s goals.

As a leader, I can say these couple of weeks haven’t always been very easy. My team has had its share of ups and downs. Some of my teammates haven’t been very cooperative and sometimes they can be very disrespectful. But the Lord is teaching me to be more graceful and merciful towards them. We as a team are working towards being punctual, self-disciplined, self-control and team unity. I am usually someone who doesn’t want to get involved in everyone else’s problems and issues but as a leader I need to be able to help everyone deal with their issues and get along with each other. We are also working towards improving our listening skills. I’m teaching them how it’s important to have good relationship with God and with each other which includes discipline, obedience, self- control and respect. It doesn’t matter how well we do ministry outside but if we can’t have love for one another in the team, how can we show love to the people we minister? My team is a work in progress for sure but I’m grateful for each one as I’m able to learn from each teammate.

House fellowship
Some prayer points for this month are:
  1. Please pray that thr Holy Spirit would continue to lead us in our ministries.
  2. Please pray for Mizoram. Pray for more hearts to go out. Most of the people here take the                    meaning of christian very lightly. Pray for sincerity and seriousness. Pray the God would consume      this state and renew their minds and give them His spirit.
  3. Please pray for my team. Pray that we would earn to grow closer to each other as we draw closer          to God.
  4. Please pray for good health. Many of us are still adjusting to this weather and are falling sick.             Pray for strength and wholeness of our bodies.

Outreach preps.

  Hey family and friends,

This month has been a month of breakthrough and freedom. We had a teaching on a topic called Divine plumb line. In this week of lectures; the Lord has been convicting and moving hearts of most of my students. We had three days of teaching and the next 2 days of ministry time. We divided the students in groups of 8 or 9 with two staffs. In the groups; we pray for each student and if the Lord nudges them to share or confess anything they open up and we help them receive freedom and breakthrough by praying for them. It was so good to hear the students confess and share their struggles and see them receive freedom and go through the whole process of receiving forgiveness and healing. I was able to encourage them and talk to them about their struggles and now that they’ve been set free; how they can live in that freedom and run closer to God. The other topics that we’ve been teaching them are team dynamics, spiritual warfare, identity in Christ and outreach. I taught the students on team unity for two days and it was very good. I got to use my gift of teaching and preaching in these two days.

Group discussion
I’m leading a team of 7; 5 boys and 2 girls to the North East for outreach. We’re going to Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Myanmar and Nagaland. We’ll be doing a lot of slum ministry, church ministry, children’s ministry, youth group ministry, community service, open air ministry and house visiting. There will be a lot of traveling and walking. I’m very excited for this outreach but I’m also a bit scared that I’m going to fail my team and school during this outreach. I fear that I won’t be the leader that everyone’s expecting me to be. Please pray that I would be more confident and i believe that I will experience God in a whole new way. I will experience him as a leader. We will be leaving the base on the 22nd of December and it’s a 4 to 5 days journey to Mizoram. I’ll be spending my Christmas on a bus to Mizoram!! My first Christmas without my family. My main goal during this outreach is to help my students experience the true meaning of missions and show them God’s heart for the world. I want to be like Jesus to them.
School picnic!

When I was preparing for the outreach and getting in touch with the hosts I was so stressed and worried because none of the hosts were responding and the ones that did respond  weren’t able to have us because of Christmas and they already made other plans. I was so worried and kind of depressed and I lost my focus on the main point of this whole outreach. I came to a point of giving up and thinking of quitting but God reminded me to focus on him and caste all my cares unto him and to rest at his feet. I was being Martha instead of Mary. But the Lord in his goodness reminded me of where I needed to focus on and take time to sit with him. When I did that; the Lord immediately made way for me to go to the places I wanted to. The Lord reminded me to fix my eyes on him instead of my worries and problems. My priority even as a leader is to fix my eyes on him, fall deeper in love with him and know him more. I want to show my students how important it is to be with Jesus when we’re doing ministry. Our ministry life is not as important as our relationship with Jesus is. For only when we receive from Him can we give to others.
Talent night!

Some of my prayer points for this month are:
                                 1. Please pray that we will experience God during our ministry and also with others as a team.
                                 2. Please pray that I will be Christ like leader to my students instead of my own.
                                 3. Please pray for protection and safety as we travel.
                                4. Please pray that we will not get sick during travels and that we’d grow closer to each other as we draw close to God.
                                5. Please pray for strength, courage, boldness and that there’s no fear in perfect love. I would stay in perfect love.

Faith as small as a Mustard seed.

Hey family and friends,   This month has been a very challenging month for me. My school and class are going great and smooth. They are ...
